Jewish Culture Festival

Krakow, Poland

June 23 - July 1, 2007

The Jewish Culture Festival takes place in the beautiful city of Krakow every summer.  In celebrating Jewish culture through the arts, literature, and music, the festival aims to foster greater mutual understanding and respect among the people of Poland and the Jewish community.  From the daily workshops to the joyful evening concerts, Krakow’s vibrant Jewish Culture Festival has become one of the largest in the world.  Having attended the festival in 2005, I returned to Krakow in the summer of 2007, this time as a photojournalist supported by the Taube Foundation for Jewish Life & Culture.  In the photographs, interviews, and movie clips that follow, I hope to convey the festival's vitality, joy, and significance.  Dziekuje!  Thank you!
